3. FSSAI Central License
- Mandatory for large-scale businesses with an annual turnover exceeding Rs. 20 crores.
- Required for exporters, importers, large-scale manufacturers, government agencies, airports, ports, and multi-state businesses.
- Essential for businesses supplying food to central government agencies such as Indian Railways, Airlines, or Defence.
Who Needs an FSSAI Food License?
All food-related businesses must register under FSSAI, including
- Food manufacturers (small and large scale)

- Online food delivery platforms (Swiggy, Zomato, etc.)

FSSAI License Validity & Renewal
Food licenses are valid for 1 to 5 years, depending on the applicant’s choice.
Renewal should be applied 30 days before expiry to avoid penalties.
Late renewal affracts fines of Rs. 100 per day.
